Update on school

School is going really well. I am getting into a routine and am loving every minute of college life. I have made a lot of great friends and have really enjoyed getting to know new people. A couple weekends ago I went up to chicago with some friends and did some shopping, there have been a few shows on campus that I have gone to, last weekend we went bowling. On Sunday I tried out a new church, I have been to a different church every sunday. I am still looking for a church to call home. I really liked the one I went to this past week, so we will see if that is the one that I decide to go to. After church we cooked lunch and had a home cooked meal, it was really nice. I am captain of a flag football team, a bunch of the girls from my floor are on my team. It is a lot of fun. We lost yesterday 12-24, but I scored 2 touchdowns! We are still trying to get everyone on the same page.

This weekend is fall break so I get to go home for 4 days, so that will be a nice little break.

College Life

I love college. The school part isn't so fun, but it has to be done. I am really enjoying my nutrition classes and my Spanish class. My chemistry class has been pretty challenging and my math class has been pretty difficult. I am getting used to my schedule and I really like the way it is set up. My Thursdays are really hectic, but every other day is not too bad. I have been studying lots, working out, meeting new friends, and sleeping whenever I have time! Haven't been getting a lot of sleep, but am surviving! The girls on my floor are really nice. I enjoy hanging out with them. This weekend we went to the football game together and ran some errands. The food here on campus is not very good so that kind of stinks, but I guess I should be thankful to have a meal every day. It seems like in college there isn't much down time, there is always something going on. Monday nights we have Party with Jesus which is a praise and worship night that is all student led. Wednesday nights is Parlor which is like youth group. Then there are always events held on the weekends and whenever there isn't something going on our floor will all do something fun, like walk the trails nearby to discover some caves or go to Denny's very late at night. So, college has been a lot of fun. It has taken a while to get used to everything, but now that I have the routine down I love it! Here are some pictures from some of the adventures from the weekend. Will try to write again soon.

First day of classes

Today I started my first day of college classes. I had Food, Safety, and Sanitation, Chemistry, Chapel, and fitness lab. All my classes were in the morning so I am done for the afternoon. I already have some assignments to do, so I will start working on those. So far I have had one or more of my friends in all my classes so that has been nice. All the professors seem really nice. So, that is what is up here. I am going to go workout with a few girls here in a bit and then tonight there is something at the campus church I am going to go check out. Hope all of you are doing well. Miss you all. Hopefully I will talk to you soon.

Peru

This summer I had the opportunity to go to Peru to help out at an orphanage down there. It was an incredible experience. I was able to grow very close to some of the children there. One of the girls even became like a younger sister to me. If I could bring them all home with me I would have. They have a great home at the orphanage and are provided for, but they all really need a family. I can not wait to go back to spend more time down there. I hope to go back next summer and to continue my relationship with Hogar de Esperanza. Next time I go I hope that I will be able to speak Spanish. I have signed up to take it at school this year so that I might be able to communicate with the children when I return. This trip has really challenged me to think about what I want to do with my future. I am very excited to see where God will lead me in life. I just have to keep trusting in Him to lead me where He wants me to go. Please pray for me to have patience as I wait for Him to show me.
