UPDATE

I know its been a while. School has been busy. I switched my major to Economics and Finance. I'm really excited about this new path. I have been very busy with intramurals. My sand volleyball team won the championship. I just finished playing 4 v 4 indoor volleyball and flag football. I am still reffing a few nights each week. Homecoming was a few weeks ago. We sang at the dedication of the new chapel. It was nice to spend the weekend with my mom and brother. This last weekend I went home to visit. 6 more days until Thanksgiving break! Then a few weeks and fall semester will be over. It's been a long semester, but I have been learning a lot. God remains faithful and I know He has wonderful plans for my life beyond what I could ever imagine.

End of September

I don't have any pictures from the last few weeks, but I figured I should update this. School has been keeping me very busy, my classes are going well. I have been reffing soccer games 3-4 days each week and am enjoying that. I also am playing on a volleyball and soccer team, tournaments for that start this week. Nothing super exciting has happened. The last two weekends I went home and got some homework done and spent some time with my family and catch up with a few friends.

This week I had a few classes canceled and the weather was really nice, so I spent some time outside playing tennis and enjoying the beautiful weather.

Sophomore Year So Far

Update from school: I have been back for 2 weeks now, however it seems like it has been a lot longer. Last weekend was the block party, which is an all campus event where everyone just hangs out and they have different activities. Then last weekend and this weekend we had Ollies Follies which is competitions between the classes, so its been a busy few weeks. Nora came up to visit last Saturday, we enjoyed just relaxing and being able to spend some time together. Classes are going well, they are starting to get busier, so I have had a lot of studying to do, but otherwise they are good so far. I really like my schedule. Other than that, just been enjoying the nice weather as much as possible. I start work this week- I am working intramurals, so I will be a ref and score keeper. It will be interesting to see how that works out with the 3 intramural teams I am on as well- soccer, sand volleyball, and softball. That's all for now.

Last Week of Summer

This past weekend I spent some time down in Carbondale with some friends that I met this summer. It was fun to get away for the weekend and just be able to visit them before I have to go back to school. I feel like this summer has been a season of goodbye's but at the same time I have learned that goodbye doesn't mean you lose contact or won't see each other again. I've spent this week catching up, packing for school, and meeting up with people from home before I leave again. With everyone back in school, I think it's about time to go back. However, I have enjoyed having a little extra time to spend with friends and watch some of my brothers baseball games. I will move in this weekend and start classes next Wednesday.

Summer 2010

This summer has been a season of growth and experience. It was my first summer home from college, so it was hard trying to get used to be back home. My freshmen year ended on a good note. I have a great group of friends and have really started to love my "new home". All of my friends from school live far away, so that was a struggle at the start of summer.
I realized I needed to begin my busy summer in Champaign. That included an internship with Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Through this internship I spent almost 3 weeks in total at camps. I met several friends and just gained experience. Best of all this summer was a time in which I have grown closer to God. He has taught me to depend on Him more and to trust Him in all circumstances. I not only interned this summer but I also worked at Birkey's for a few hours each day. I definitely found ways to stay busy! I took a trip to West Virginia for my birthday to visit Megan. It was a fun filled weekend and great to reconnect. My sister has been gone all summer so it was pretty quiet around the house, but I have been able to hang out with my family some and spend some time with my friends here in Champaign. This past weekend I was in my cousin and close friend's wedding. It was a beautiful wedding and so neat to see 2 people so in love with God and each other. Next weekend I am going to visit a friend that I was a leader with at camp this summer. It will be nice to get away for one last weekend before it's time to pack up and head back to school.
This summer God has taught me so much. I am so excited to be back at school and to be able to use all that I have learned. He has put some plans in my heart for the coming year and I have been praying a lot about them. I can't wait to see all that He is going to do.
This all is just a brief recap of my summer, but I am going to try and keep this pretty updated during the school year as well.

First semester went well. I did well in my classes and really enjoyed college life.
Over my winter break I spent a lot of time working, relaxing, and just hanging out with my family. Then the last week of break I took a trip out to Nevada to visit the Mettlers. I had a lot of fun. It was so nice to see them. We went skiing (my first time), and I managed not to injure myself! I got back to school last night and had my first day of classes today. My schedule this semester seems a lot busier than last semester. I am going to be in choir, so that will be fun. I am also taking piano lessons. I am trying to find some things that I enjoy doing to fill up my free time. I will write soon.
